Gordon was presenting at the NoVacancy Hotel + Accommodation Industry Expo London at Excel earlier this month. The theme of the presentation was Fostering wellbeing in your team and yourself.

- Resources (Apps) to help manage stress and anxiety
- Offer flexible scheduling options to accommodate the diverse needs of your team
- Provides a better work-life balance
- Reduces stress associated with rigid schedules
- Invest in ongoing training and development programs to enhance the skills of your staff
- Create clear development pathways
- This not only, improves their job satisfaction -It contributes to the overall success of your business, increases loyalty and job satisfaction.
- Establish transparent and open communication channels
- Keep staff informed about business developments, & changes in procedures, and any support services available to them………….

- Fitness programmes, create mindfulness activities, and health screenings, to promote physical health and overall wellbeing among your employees.
Appoint Wellness Champions
- Regularly acknowledge and appreciate the hard work of your staff

- Providing positive feedback will boost morale and job satisfaction
- Provide training in various formats, including online courses, workshops, and on-the-job training
- This accommodates different learning preference and ensures that staff can access training resources conveniently

Scottish Tourism Month
The month of March is Scottish Tourism Month here in Scotland. The Scottish Tourism Alliance (STA) has its annual conference in the EICC on the 9th & 10th of March. SERVICE STRIDE RUN CLUB
A wellbeing run for hospitality workers
Work in hospitality? This one’s for you. Join our Service Stride Run Club — a relaxed, inclusive space for runners and walkers of all abilities to move, chat, and unwind together.
📍 Start Point: Clayton Hotel, Glasgow
🗓 When: Tuesday 3rd March and every fortnight thereafter.
⏰ Time: 6:00 PM
📏 Route: 5km through Glasgow Green and back
This isn’t about pace or performance — it’s about fitness, mental wellbeing, and connection. A chance to meet others in the industry, share experiences, talk through challenges, and simply let off steam after work in a supportive environment.
Facilities at the start point include secure bag storage and toilets, plus space to meet and socialise before and after the run.
We also encourage participants to leave their phones safely stored during the run — unplug, be present, and enjoy the conversation, fresh air, and movement.
Whether you’re new to running or a seasoned marathon finisher, you’re welcome here.
